Additional Information

Lehigh Safety Shoes: 6 " Lehigh Steel Toe Waterproof Swampers
1107

Lehigh Safety Shoe Co. has been providing protective toe safety shoes since the early 1920's initially under the name of Lehigh Rubber and Leather Company.

There have been many upgrades in technology over time allowing for better Lehigh products including waterproof styles. This has helped open the door to some excellent production additions to the Lehigh line including 6 " Lehigh Waterproof Steel Toe Swampers Work Boot stock # 1107.

A key feature of the Lehigh stock # 1107 Work Boot is its Lehigh & Dri Waterproof construction. It combines a waterproof inner layer with the upper providing a barrier that helps keep water out and feet dry.

However, the most significant feature of the Lehigh Swampers stock # 1107 work boot would be its TPU (thermoplastic urethane) lower foot portion. While the top portion of Swampers is made of leather, there are certain work environments that due to the nature of their chemicals and contaminants that tend to attack leather.

Rather than wearing a work boot that has leather in the lower foot portion in a work environment that leads to leather to possibly become hard, brittle, and break; the Lehigh Swampers stock # 1107 with its TPU lower foot portion may be just what you are seeking.

A key comfort feature of the 1107 is its contoured removable polyurethane cushion insole providing direct underfoot cushion comfort. The polyurethane material used in its insole is known for its cushioning while not bottoming out features. Some open celled foams feel very comfortable to the initial touch, but will tend to break down faster than a product made with polyurethane. Plus, it is extra thick in the heel contact area. This provides additional underfoot comfort to the wearer.

In addition to meeting the highest ASTM F2413 Impact & Compression standards, Lehigh stock # 1107 also complies with its Electrical Hazard standards. This type of work boot is made with insulating bottoms providing secondary electrical hazard protection to those areas dealing with open circuits under dry conditions, but also can be worn in work areas requiring only basic protective toe work boots.

    Protective Toe
Impact testing determines the amount of protection to the toe under various foot pounds of force. Compression testing determines the amount of static pressure a steel/composite toe cap can withstand. Our boots are I75/C75
    Electrical Hazard
Footwear is built with nail-free construction to help insulate you from the ground to retard conduction, but is not intended to be primary protection against electric shock. Leather footwear must be dry. Our electrical hazard boots meet and exceed ASTM electrical hazard standards.
    Waterproof
This product is built with quality waterproofing materials to keep you dry in wet environments.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Comfortable but did not last 2.5 months in my Job! To be fair these had a great look and feel...theyare water-proof but I had under-estimated the soft cushion rubber sole which is now less than a 1/4" in most spots of the soles...don't get discouraged by this review because I work in mild acidic, wet, abrasive work areas...I thought these would be the best solution for boots other than rubber boots which I will not wear due to reduced ankle protection and not breathable...Just a warning if you intend to use this pair of boots in similar work conditionsI have had some great pairs of Lehigh work boots the Lehigh high and Dry Loggers served me well for 4 years...Work Safe huh...Safe Work+NoShort-cuts=No Regrets.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Returned in less than 1 year due to failure I use boot hard, so it is tough for me to find a boot to last. I have been buying Lehigh for 15 years now, but the boot that I normally buy is no longer available. So I tried this boot. I wore these boots for only a few months and the insides started separating. The soles were coming off the shoe as well and I was told that they are not repairable. I was credited back my purchase, so they took care of me as a customer. But I wish that they made a quality boot still.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Boot I have been wearing this same type of boot for over 20 years and love them. The slip resistance is outstanding. They are very comfortable. Only down side is with any captive foot wear with a full rubber bottom is your feet sweat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Boot I work in a chemical plant this is the only approved boot we can wear for protection for our feet. It works great for keeping your feet dry and safe from the environment , however the stitching gives out easily .
